| From the $US 3.8 billion
UN regular budget, UNESCAP receives $US 71.9 million to finance
its mandated activities in the field of economic and social
development in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, UNESCAP
receives approximately $US 26.1 million of extrabudgetary
contributions, which are mainly utilized to finance technical
cooperation projects aimed to increase the capacity of its
member countries to achieve the internationally agreed development
goals, including those contained in the Millennium Declaration.
Besides the above, UNESCAP is executing regional activities
financed from centrally managed funds at UN headquarters.
These include approximately $US 4.5 million from the regular
programme of technical cooperation, funded from the regular
budget, which is mainly utilized for regional advisory services
and for projects to fill gaps between the regular and extrabudgetary
funded activities of UNESCAP. |
