UNESCAP’s programme priorities are guided by the outcomes of
major global conferences and international agreements, taking into
account regional-specific needs. In addition, they also respond to
the unique social and economic trends of the region.
The priorities of the UNESCAP work programme are determined by UNESCAP
members and associate members through various intergovernmental bodies,
most significantly during the annual sessions of the Commission. The
involvement and recommendations of governments in determining the
focus of the UNESCAP work programme helps ensure greater relevance
and ownership by member countries of our programmes. |
