Workshop on Sanitation Solutions for the urban poor in Pacific Island States
Majuro, Marshall Islands, 12 - 14 January 2009
A three-day workshop to introduce participants from Pacific Islands to selected practices and key lessons on sanitation for low-income urban communities from Indonesia and The Philippines. The proposed methodologies will fit with the implementation of water safety plans in those countries, under the risk management in water catchment areas.
The objective of the workshop is to encourage the adaptation and replication of innovative practices in urban sanitation in the participating countries. This will be achieved through direct transfer of information, discussion of the conditions for replication and planning of pilot projects.
