2nd International WASH Practitioners' Marketplace and Fair in Cox's Bazaar, Bangladesh
11-13 November 2008
ESCAP organized, in partnership with STREAMS of Knowledge and NGO Forum in Bangladesh, the 2nd International WASH Practitioners’ Marketplace and Fair in Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh from the 11th to the 13th of November 2008. The event provided a platform where sustainable sanitation, hygiene and better water management related knowledge was shared among a community of practitioners in South Asia.
STREAMS of Knowledge, a registered NGO in the Philippines and a global coalition of resource centres engaged in capacity development in the area of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) already organized the international WASH Practitioner’s Marketplace and Fair in Mombasa, Kenya in September 2007.
The event welcomed 148 participants, mainly practitioners from South Asian countries involved in water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion. They represented capacity building networks, local and central government agencies, service providers, donor institutions, civil society organizations, the academia, private institutions and corporate groups engaged in water supply, sanitation and hygiene-related programmes.
