Study Visit of High Level Delegation from East Timor Thailand, 2-6 June 2008
A high level delegation comprising the Secretary of State for Public Works, senior officials and parliamentarians from Timor Leste visited Thailand to study the Thai experience in low income housing from 2 to 6 June 2008. The visit was financed and organized by the Urban Resource Centre of Timor Leste (URC-TL) through a grant provided by UNESCAP through its regional project on Housing the Poor in Urban Economies. During their visit the delegation met with UNESCAP, the National Housing Authority and the Community Organizations Development Institute (CODI). Field visits were also made to community-based resettlement projects and affordable housing projects in and around Bangkok.
