This Project constitutes Phase II of the UNESCAP-UNDP project "Supporting the Achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in Asia and the Pacific (2001-2003)" and aims to build upon the success of the first phase by broadening collaborations with UN and associated agencies and creating synergies with further MDG related initiatives. The project has the objective of promoting the adoption of policy options that support the achievement of the MDGs, facilitating the understanding of key strategies and options by providing a depository of regional experiences and lessons, which may be adopted by other countries. Key strategies for the implementation of the project include the development of partnerships with and between national policy-making, finance and planning entities, civil society organizations and UN partners, and the development of targeted communications campaigns to optimize the advocacy potential of the project's main deliverables.
