National Workshop on Pro Poor Water and Wastewater Management
26-28 September
Manila Philippines

Representatives from selected towns in The Philippines discussed innovative practices for bringing water and sanitation to the poor.

During the workshop, participants enriched their knowledge on various approaches to water and wastewater management for poor residents that have been tried out successfully in The Philippines and in other countries of the region

They also discussed the application of these approaches in their own local contexts. At the end pf the workshop, each participating town prepared a draft plan for water and sanitation.

Participants are now given the necessary time to further elaborate this plan by consulting with civil society representatives and prepare an inclusive feasibility study. A follow up training on feasibility study preparation will take place in November 2007.
