| Objectives: |
This
meeting will discuss food security and poverty reduction
in the Asian region from the sub-regional perspective. The
objectives of the meeting will be:

Strengthen the dialogue among the
Sub-regional Economic Organizations and between them
and interested international and regional technical
and donor agencies on MDGs.
-
Identify the priority sub-regional
issues and concerns affecting poverty, food security,
agriculture and rural development.
-
Formulate Regional Programmes to
address these issues and concerns and reinforce national
initiatives.

of the Sub-regional Economic Organizations such as ASEAN,
PIF-FIC and SAARC; high level representatives of Regional

selected regional civil society organizations, women’s
