Dr. Pholphirul is currently holidng the position of Human Development Economist at the World Bank office in Bangkok and is Associate Professor in Economics at the Graduate School of Development Economics, National Insitute of Development Administration (NIDA). His research interests and specializations include human development economics, economics of the service sector, behavioral economics, economics of social issues and international economics. Dr. Pholphirul has published extensively in various reputed international journals and has held several teaching positions in Universities both in Thailand and the United States.
His current work on migration in Thailand at the World Bank explores economic contributions of immigrants on Thailand's growth, productivity and competitiveness.
