Kunal Sen is a Professor of Development Economics and Policy at the Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM), School of Environment and Development, University of Manchester , United Kingdom . He holds a master degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University , a doctoral degree in Economics from the State University of New Jersey and Post-doctoral research in economics from the Australian National University , Canberra .
Prof. Sen is widely traveled and has worked as an economist and international consultant in Bangladesh , India , Kenya , Kosovo , Malawi , Tanzania , Thailand and Uganda for various institutions and international organizations including the Department for International Development in the United Kingdom , the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Canada . Professor Sen has also held various teaching positions at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research.
Professor Sen has written, co-authored and edited several books and published numerous articles, technical and working papers in accredited national and international journals in the areas of trade, investment, finance and poverty.
