    Tiziana Bonapace, Chief, ICT and Development Section
Ms. Bonapace is an international development economist. Ms. Bonapace works at ESCAP, one of the five regional Commissions of the UN, where for over 21 years, Ms. Bonapace has worked on issues related to macroeconomics, trade and industrial policies, disaster risk reduction and ICT connectivity. Ms. Bonapace has a particular interest in the technological advances that drive regional connectivity and societal change.

Ms. Bonapace has been involved in the preparation of studies, research and analytical papers and has participated as a panelist and resource person in many meetings of senior government officials and business leaders. Ms. Bonapace has lived in Italy, Thailand, and South Africa, where she obtained her Masters Degree in Commerce.
   Rémi Lang , Economic Affairs Officer

Rémi Lang first joined the United Nations in 1999. He has worked for the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD, Geneva) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA, Addis Ababa) on trade policy issues and regional integration, as well on ICT for economic development.

Rémi Lang carried out research and analysis, writing inputs to flagship reports and policy oriented studies. He contributed to the organization and servicing of various intergovernmental processes at the multilateral and regional levels. He also organised, delivered and backstopped a number of technical assistance programmes and training courses on issues related trade negotiations and ICT for Development.

Rémi Lang joined UNESCAP in 2012, where he works on harnessing ICT for economic and social development in Asia and Pacific countries, at the ICT and Development Section. He has a special interest in socio-economic development processes and the transformative role ICT can play in this respect.

    Dominic Leong , Associate Economic Affairs Officer

Mr. Leong joined ESCAP in September 2010 and has worked on issues related to project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, management reform and business process improvement. Prior to joining ESCAP, Mr. Leong worked for a number of years in the private sector, most recently with the Boeing Company in Seattle, USA. During his time with the Boeing Company, Mr. Leong worked in programme management and risk analysis in both the commercial airplanes and the defense, space and security divisions of the company.

Mr. Leong holds bachelor and master degrees in business management and has a particular interest in the social, economic and political effects of social media within society.

    Kwang Dong KIM, NRL Expert on ICT

Kwang Dong KIM joined the UN ESCAP in July 2012 as an expert on ICT policy. Since 1998, Mr. KIM has worked for the ICT Ministry of the Republic of Korea and built up his ICT policy career especially in telecommunication regulation, IT industry promotion and broadcasting regulations. He holds a bachelor degree in International Politics, a masters degree in Public Administrations and an MBA degree.

During his 2 years dispatch period to ESCAP from the Government of Korea, he will develop and implement cooperation projects and provide support to APCICT. Mr Kim plans to assist ESCAP in planning and undertaking analytical studies on ICT policies for sustainable development and he hopes that one of the most enduring work will be the successful managing of the project entitled “Strengthening ICT capacities for improved ESCAP nations connectivity”, which will be carried under a cooperation agreement between ESCAP and KCC (Korea Communications Commission).

    Chonlathon Piemwongjit, Staff Assistant
Ms. Chonlathon has been working for ESCAP for over 7 years. She works as a Staff Assistant and her functions relate to office management and administrative support.

During her education, she studied at Terry Fox Senior Secondary School, Port Coquitlam, Canada. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Bangkok University and a Master’s degree in Language and Communictions from National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
    Sakollerd Limkriangkrai, Team Assistant

Mr. Sakollerd joined IDS in February 2010 as a Team Assistant responsible for administrative support. He is one of the Asia Pacific Gateway team members and also assists IDS on the staff recruitment process, as Inspira focal point.

Mr. Sakollerd has spent several years in Australia for his high school. He holds a Bachelor degree in international business management and Master degree in international relations.

   Morokot Prom, Fellowship, Young Leadership Programme

Mr. PROM Morokot, Cambodian fellowship for Young Leadership Programme of UNESCAP. He has been in ESCAP since 20th March 2013 and He will spend three months for the whole programme. For his first six weeks he had spent time with Social Development Division and now he had moved to Information Communication and Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division (IDD) for his last six weeks in ESCAP.

Mr. Morokot graduated in Computer Science skill in 2006, but he mostly spends his time with the Social Work. He currently works in Union Youth Federations of Cambodia which is doing active work on Youth Sector. He is mostly interested with Social Work and Social Media for the Society.

   Shradha Varma, Intern

Ms. Varma has been an intern last summer in 2012. She has joined ESCAP again this year in May, and will continue through July, 2013. She is a graduate in Computer Applications, and has recently completed her Masters in Information Technology from 'Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra' in India.

During her internship at the Information Communication and Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division (IDD), Shradha is expected to administer the required changes in the DRR Gateway as well as help in the research areas for Technological advancements and its applications in mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction.

    Mrigank Sharma, Intern

Mr. Mrigank joined ESCAP in May 2013 and will be here through July, 2013 for his internship at the Information Communication and Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division (IDD). He will be working on the Disaster Risk Reduction Gateway and other research areas pertaining to the use of ICT into DRR and development planning.

Mrigank has graduated in Computer Applications from Bangalore University (Karnataka, India) and is currently pursuing Masters in Computer Applications from 'BIT, Mesra'. He has keen interest in Research, Programming and Networking.
