The Workshop on Flood Risk Reduction through Space Applications in South-East Asia was jointly organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management (ICHARM), with the support of the Japan Space Exploration Agency (JAXA). The objective of the workshop was to share knowledge and experiences on disaster risk management through space technology applications, with a focus on the 2011 floods in South-East Asia.
