Applications of Space Technology to Enhance the Activities of Typhoon Committee

The workshop on "Application of Space Technology to Enhance the Activities of Typhoon Committee" was held to enhance capacity of disaster managers through technical training on space applications to reduce water-related disaster risks. It is intended to follow up on the outcomes of the workshop on "Space Application to reduce water-related Disaster Risk in Asia", held from 7 to 9 December 2012 in Bangkok. The workshop introduced GIS-based disaster risk reduction (DRR) tools, provide information on the progress of Sentinel Asia, and other space application methods that are appplicable for DRR, and review progress on the Urban Flood Risk Management project.
