The Second Expert Group Meeting on the Great East Japan Earthquake - Learning from the Mega-Tsunami Disaster - was organized on 16-18 December 2011 by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP0, in partnership with the Cabinet Office of Government of Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC). The Expert Group Meeting was organized as a sequel to the first meeting held in May 2011.
