The 14th Session of the Intergovernmental Consultative Committee (ICC) on the Regional Space Applications Programme for Sustainable Development ( RESAP ) will be held from 15 to 17 July in Manila, Philippines. The session is organized by ESCAP's Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division and hosted Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), and will review and adopt the activities, strategies and the terms of references necessary to the work programme for 2011 and beyond. The terms of Reference for the ICC, and considerations of possible new thematic working groups of RESAP will also be discussed and adopted.
An expert meeting will be organized as preparatory to the 14th Session of the Intergovernmental Consultative Committee (ICC) to advise on RESAP priority areas for the coming years, to review and develop strategies for building regional cooperative mechansms on effective access to and applications of space-based products and services for disaster management and sustainable development in the region.
All 24 RESAP members along with experts and representatives of various organizations are expected to attend the meeting.
