The National Workshop on Capacity Building in Public Policy Issues of Internet Use for Business Development was held from 22 to 24 October 2006 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Workshop was organized by the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in close cooperation with Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-APDIP).
The main objective of the Workshop was to use a set of training modules on the use of Internet for business development developed by the regional workshop, that aims to serve as a policy making reference, for ICT and Internet policy makers and implementers of public policy issues of Internet governance in developing countries and countries with economies in transition in Asia and the Pacific, to build/enhance of the participants of the national workshop as well as to field test the modules for their further improvement and make them more user friendly and practicable .
