National Seminar on Capacity Building for ICT Policymaking
27-28 November 2007, Baku, Azerbaijan
The National Seminar on Capacity Building for ICT Policymaking will be held from 27-28 November 2007 at the Aztelekom” PU in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event is co-organized and hosted by the Department for Information Society Development of MCIT, Azerbaijan, UNESCAP and UNECE.
This Seminar is one of the follow-up activities of the Regional Seminar on Capacity Building for ICT Policymaking in Central Asia, which was held from 11 to 14 July 2006, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The main objective of this National Seminar is to disseminate the training modules Integration of Information and Communication Technologies into National Development Plans for Central Asian States to national policy makers, implementers, as well as private sector and academia participants through an interactive seminar. The modules and their content were discussed, developed and outlined during the Bishkek seminar in 2006. Among other intentions, the modules aim to:
- serve as a policy making reference, for ICT policy makers and implementers, particularly on the telecommunication and Internet, including NGN with reference to Central Asia and the Caucasus countries;
- build/enhance capacity of the participants of the national seminar; and
- further test the modules for their further improvement and make them more user friendly and practicable.
