Expert Group Meeting on Regional Cooperation on Follow-up to WSIS and ICT4D
30 November to 1 December 2006 - Bangkok, Thailand
The Expert Group Meeting on Regional Cooperation on Follow-up to WSIS and ICT4D was held in Bangkok on 30 November to 1 December 2006. The meeting was attended by experts from the following countries: Cambodia, India, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Maldives, Nepal, Philippines and Thailand. Representatives from UNDP-APDIP, UNCCD, ICAO, ITU, UNESCO and APT also participated in the meeting.
Tthe main objectives of the meeting were:
- The role of regional cooperation in the achievement of WSIS targets.
- Policies to promote investment in ICT infrastructure, including broadband.
- Highlighting priority areas that apply across the participating countries.
