Project title:
E-Business development and support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Cambodia.
Project objective:
The pilot project's goal is to build six provincial chambers of commerce's knowledge and capacity on the use of ICT as well as raise general awareness of the benefits of ICT in order to strengthen and support e-business training sessions that cater to Cambodian SMEs.
Project brief:
Phnom Penh/Cambodia's Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) is enhancing the existing web site and establishing six provincial web sites for SMEs that will serve as hubs for getting the SMEs online. The provincial chambers of commerce in the chosen six provinces will be driving this, both updating and developing further the web sites, and support and train SMEs that want to go online.
Who manages the project?
The Phnom Penh/Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) is implementing the project in collaboration with the ICT Applications Section/Information, Communication and Space Technology Division of UNESCAP.
Target Groups
The primary target group is the provincial chambers of commerce and the secondary target group is Cambodian SME owners. The pilot project's key product – six provincial web sites – will cater to the global market so the tertiary target group – buyers – is also a priority. |
