FIJI
The Fiji Land Information Council coordinates and promotes
all space technology activities in the country. It reports
directly to the Ministry of Lands, Mining and Energy, which
is mandated to provide the data, technology, human and administration
infrastructure in order to maximize the benefits obtainable
from land information and space technology. A number of
activities have been carried out in Fiji using remote sensing
and GIS, including natural hazards mapping, resource inventory,
coastal zone mapping, satellite meteorology and development
of a land information system. A meteorological satellite
data reception facility has been installed. |
