Youth work promoted in Pakistan
ESCAP undertook discussions with youth programme counterparts from ILO and UNDP in Islamabad. Each agency shared information on their work and agreed to collaborate, including with regard to a forthcoming interregional project on gender and the demographic dividend in which Pakistan is a focus country. In Abbottabad, ESCAP participated in the 9th National Convention on Students Quality Circles (3-4 November 2017). At the event, delegates from Pakistan, other South Asian countries, Japan and the United Kingdom engaged in discussions on ways to enhance education. In all, over 800 participants took part, including representatives from 64 schools across Pakistan. The Youth Policy Toolbox was promoted, especially the related training module developed in Pakistan, and it was well received by participants, while valuable feedback on how to improve the Toolbox was generated.
