Special Lecture on South Asia 2060: Envisioning Regional Futures

ESCAP-SSWA Office and the South Asian University are organizing a Special Lecture on South Asia 2060: Envisioning Regional Futures by Professor Adil Najam, International Relations and Earth& Environment, Boston University on Friday 24 January 2014 at South Asia University, New Delhi.

The Special Lecture will focus on the newly released book titled "South Asia 2060: Envisioning Regional Futures", distant future prospects for South Asia, and also touch on a whole spectrum of current issues likely to affect the subregion. The Lecture will explore South Asia's distinct identity, as well as the potential of present conditions to impact the subregion's future and the rest of the world.

Professor of International Relations and Earth & Environment, Boston University, Prof. Najam also served on the Advisory Board of the Human Development Report and was nominated by the United Nations Secretary-General to serve on the United Nations Committee on Development, among other roles.
