The South Asia Research Network on Employment and Social Protection for Inclusive Growth (SARNET) is a research network implemented jointly by the Institute for Human Development, ESCAP South and South-West Asia Office and the ILO South Asia Decent Work Team. SARNET aims to provide evidence-based research on employment and social protection issues, in order to improve the quantity and quality of employment in South Asia; build capacity in South Asian countries for related policy research; and disseminate research results, share experience and foster policy dialogues to contribute to better policy formulation on employment and social protection issues in South Asia. The South Asia Regional Conference will serve as a preparatory conference for the South Asia Labour and Employment Report and will provide a platform for researchers to present key preliminary findings from ongoing studies on employment and social protection in the subregion.
