Seventh Meeting of the Working Group on Asian Highway

The Intergovernmental Agreement on the Asian Highway Network entered into force on 4 July 2005. Currently there are 30 Parties to the Agreement. In accordance with the terms of the Agreement, a Working Group on the Asian Highway was established.

The seventh meeting of the Working Group on the Asian Highway Network is scheduled to be held in Bangkok on 13-15 December 2017.
On 13 December, the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway Steering Group and the Working Group on the Asian Highway Network will hold a joint session to discuss opportunities and challenges of co-deploying fibre-optic cable along the Asian Highway network.

On 14 and 15 December, the Working Group on the Asian Highway Network will receive updated information from participants on initiatives being implemented or considered to develop the Asian Highway network in their respective countries. It will also consider proposals for amendments to the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Asian Highway Network.
