Second Expert Group Meeting on the State of Asia-Pacific Cities 2014
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in partnership with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) will organize the Second Expert Group Meeting to prepare for the State of Asia-Pacific Cities 2014, from 24 to 26 March 2014 to be held in The Peninsula Bangkok, Bangkok.
Since it was first published in 2011, the State of Asian Cities 2010/2011 Report has contributed to a better understanding of the overall state of cities in the region and the policy options open to urban managers and national leaders. It was officially launched at the Fifth Asia-Pacific Urban Forum which was held in Bangkok in June 2011.
This Report will address five issue areas; urbanization, urban economy, urban society, urban environment and urban management. The Second Expert Group Meeting will serve as a final review meeting with the guidance of senior experts from across the Asia-Pacific region.
