Regional Seminar on Development of Efficient and Effective Logistics Systems

An efficient and effective logistics system has a crucial role in supporting economic and trade growth, and developing regional distribution networks. ESCAP has been working with member countries to enhance the logistics performance in the region, so that the industry has the capacity to respond to global challenges and to contribute to economic and trade development. As part of these efforts, with funding support from the Government of China and in cooperation with the China Ministry of Transport, ESCAP is organizing the Regional Seminar on Development of Efficient and Effective Logistics Systems in Hangzhou, China, from 7 to 8 May 2013. Participants from member country governments and logistics associations will share experiences on effective logistics policy, improvement of logistics performance, and development of integrated logistics information systems. The Seminar will also consider ways to enhance regional cooperation for promotion of increased efficiency and reduced cost in the logistics industry.
