ESCAP and Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) Secretariat has been co-hosting the International Seminar on Trade Facilitation on an annual basis since 2011 for dialogue and cooperation on trade facilitation issues among relevant stakeholders in the Greater Tumen Region, which comprises of China, Mongolia, Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation, as well as with international organizations and private sector representatives.

This year's Seminar, which will be held on 16 November 2017 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, will hold three sessions under the topics of the following: 1) Advancing Implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA); 2) Government and Private Sector Perspectives in the Implementation of the WTO TFA and the Framework Agreement (FA) on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific; as well as 3) Enhancing Trade Facilitation with Better Procedures and Transport Connectivity. It will also take place back-to-back with the second meetings of GTI Trade and Investment Committee and GTI Customs Sub-committee.
