Inter-regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Investment Projects Pipeline
Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe is organizing the Inter-regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Investment Projects Pipeline, which will take place at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok, Thailand, on 23-24 April 2014.
The workshop will be organized as part of the project Promoting Energy Efficiency Investments for Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Development that has the objectives to improve ability of the project developers to prepare financially sound and bankable project proposals to seek funding from financial institutions and to promote policies that could support investments into energy efficiency projects. With these goals in mind the project in 2013 conducted training courses on business planning for energy efficiency projects and workshop to discuss existing successful policies.
The Inter-regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Investment Projects Pipeline will serve as a follow up to the training courses and will allow project developers, policy makers and financial institutions from countries in Asia-Pacific and Europe to review the status of the project proposals. Specifically, participants will discuss progress achieved in attaining funding for the projects and barriers encountered in this process, including specific feedback received from the targeted financing institutions. This discussion will contribute towards further improvement of the specific project proposals and will enhance understanding by relevant stakeholders of the key elements that can make an energy efficiency project a good investment opportunity.
