Europe-Asia Road Safety Forum

Date:
4 Dec 2013 to 6 Dec 2013
Location:
New Delhi, India

ESCAP in its resolution 48/11 dated 23 April 1992 recommended that countries in the region should consider acceding to seven international conventions and among them, the 1968 Convention on Road Traffic and the 1968 Convention on Road Signs and Signals. So far, 17 ESCAP member States are parties to the Convention on Road Traffic and 16 are parties to the Convention on Road Signs and Signals.

The Europe-Asia Road Safety Forum aims to serve as an effective platform for participants to learn more about the UN road safety conventions and their benefits as well as to share wider road safety experiences of countries from the region and outside the region. This is part of the ongoing efforts to provide assistance to member countries in improving road safety, in particular the area of promoting the uniform standards in traffic rules and road signs and signals.
