Asia-Pacific Trade Economists' Conference: "Trade in the Asian century - delivering on the promise of economic prosperity”
The Secretariat of the Asia-Pacific Research and Training Network on Trade (ARTNeT) is organizing a high-level conference of trade economists to mark ARTNeT’s 10th Anniversary, on 22-23 Sep 2014 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. The overall theme of the conference will be "Trade in the Asian century - delivering on the promise of economic prosperity”. The Conference is organized with funding support from the International Development Research Centre, and the Secretariat of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). This Conference will provide an opportunity for research institutions and individual researchers of the Asia-Pacific region to showcase research they are conducting in collaboration with ARTNeT, as well as to get input on their work from prominent trade experts from around the world. In addition, the Conference will be expected to result in policy recommendations to the Governments of the region which will be submitted to the Committee on Trade and Investment of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in March 2015.
