The 18th Session of the Intergovernmental Consultative Committee (ICC) on the Regional Space Application Programme for Sustainable Development (RESAP)

The 18th session of the Intergovernmental Consultative Committee (ICC) on the Regional Space Applications Programme for Sustainable Development (RESAP) will be organized by ESCAP on 26 September 2014 and held at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 18th ICC on RESAP will provide a brief overview of the key activities and achievements of the RESAP network since the 17th ICC held in November 2013. There will also be an opportunity to review and discuss the 2015-2016 work plan of RESAP, covering the Regional Drought Mechanism, near real-time satellite imagery for damage assessment and response, and institutional capacity development initiatives. The meeting will outline the secretariat’s and member States’ efforts in the implementation of the Asia-Pacific Plan of Action for Applications of Space Technology and Geographic Information Systems for Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development 2012-2017 (Asia-Pacific Plan of Action). Furthermore, there will be an opportunity to discuss any other matters relevant to the Committee.
