||
Text: Health education is one of the cheapest, most effective and longest lasting services that improve health. Hence, the Department of Health is undertaking a massive and sustained campaign to educate households on prevention of diseases, promotion of healthful living and simple treatments. For this purpose, public health nurses and rural health midwives are instructed to organize household study groups composed of around twenty people or less. These groups are the venue of basic health education, using the Household Teaching Manual (HTM) as the basic text.
