The Department of Interior and Local Government pursues its continuing commitment to the Philippine Population Program (PPP). In view hereof the attention of all concerned is invited on the role of the Department in the Philippine Population Program, which shall serve as a basis for synchronizing and coordinating regional and local efforts in population planning and program implementation, to wit:

Assist in the conduct of continuing information, education and communication activities (IEC) and provide motivation in the promotion of responsible parenthood and family planning services in tandem with other development programs.

Governors, Mayors and Barangay Captains to:

Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of local population welfare program;

Organize/strengthen population development committees at their level;

Organize/mobilize community-based networks capable of delivering integrated services;

Insure integration of local population welfare program in their respective development plans and provide corresponding financial and logistic support; and

Mobilize the private sector and other non-government organizations (NGOs) to actively participate in the local population welfare program.
