PRESIDEN REPUBLIK INDONESIA
LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
NUMBER 10 OF 1992
CONCERNING
POPULATION DEVELOPMENT AND
THE DEVELOPMENT OF HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS FAMILIES
LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF
INDONESIA
NUMBER 10 OF 1992
CONCERNING
POPULATION DEVELOPMENT AND THE DEVELOPMENT
OF HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS FAMILIES
WITH THE BLESSING OF GOD ALMIGHTY
THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA,
Considering:
- that the essence of national development as
embodied in the Pancasila is the comprehensive development of the Indonesian
people and the development of Indonesian society as a whole;
- that national development involves all
dimensions and aspects of life, including the size of the population, the
quality of the population and the quality of families as well as population
distribution to achieve a just and prosperous society based on the Pancasila and
the 1945 Constitution;
- that a large population which is not in
harmony, proportion and balance with what the environment can support and
accommodate may affect all aspects of national development and social life,
while a large and high quality population constitutes the basic asset for and is
the dominant factor in national development;
- that, in view of the above, the size of the
population should be controlled, the quality of the population and the quality
of families should be developed, and population mobility should be guided so
that they will become valuable human resources for national development and
resilience;
- that existing laws and regulations do not
yet comprehensively regulate population development and the development of happy
and prosperous families;
- that, in the effort of controlling the size
of the population, the development of the quality of the population and the
quality of families, and the guidance of population mobility as referred to
above, it is regarded as necessary to enact a law on population development and
development of happy and prosperous families;
Bearing in mind: Article 5 section (1) and
Article 20 section (1) of the 1945 Constitution;
With the approval of the
PEOPLES REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
HAS DECIDED:
To enact: THE LAW CONCERNING POPULATION
DEVELOPMENT AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS FAMILIES.
