Text:
Article 29 Foreigners, overseas Chinese and residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, when applying for marriage registration, shall submit the following certificates:

Foreigners

Passport or other identity certificates;

Residence permit issued by the public security department, or identity and temporary residence certificate issued by foreign affairs department;

Marital status certificate issued by a native public notarization body identified by the foreign ministry of this country (a body entrusted by the foreign ministry) and Chinese embassy or consulate to this country, or a marital certificate issued by the embassy or consulate of this country to China; marital certificate of foreign nationals also can be issued by their employer or the county/city/district government at localities where their permanent residence is registered.

Premarital health examination certificate or medical certificate issued by medical institutions.

Overseas Chinese

Passport issued by Chinese embassy or consulate to the country where they live;

Marital status certificate issued by a public notarization body identified by Chinese embassy or consulate to the country where they live, or a marital status certificate issued by Chinese embassy or consulate to this country;

Premarital health examination certificate or medical certificate issued by medical institutions.

Hong Kong and Macao residents

Identity card, home visit permit or sailor's certificate;

Marital status certificate issued by the Hong Kong marriage registration department recognized by a local lawyer who is entrusted by the judiciary body of China, and a statement made by the party concerned and certified by this lawyer showing the party concerned hasn't registered marriage elsewhere, or a marital status certificate issued by the Macao Administrative Office or Police Office;

Premarital health examination certificate or medical certificate issued by medical institutions.

Taiwan residents

Identity card;

Travel permit for Taiwanese compatriots or passport issued by the People's Republic of China;

Marital status certificate issued by a public notarization body in Taiwan with a copy of the person's permanent residence registration attached;

Premarital health examination certificate or medical certificate issued by medical institutions.
