	Population ageing, or the increase in the number and percentage of older persons resulting from reduced birth rates and increased life expectancy, raises a number of social issues. Ageing has gone beyond the realm of welfare concern and needs to be viewed as a developmental challenge. It is essential that ageing-related issues be mainstreamed into national development agendas and relevant policies. View Details
