UNESCAP launches Electronic Youth Advisory Group
on HIV/AIDS
Young people want to be part of the solution!
Young people are not merely target groups for
HIV/AIDS interventions. Young activists emphasized
and reiterated this point at the XV International
AIDS Conference (Bangkok, 11-16 July 2004). Numerous
declarations and commitments by governments and
United Nations agencies stress the importance
of youth engagement in HIV/AIDS policy and programme
development. Many focus on the role of young people
in their implementation.These efforts require
serious follow-up.
