The former Health and Development Section has been renamed Social Protection and Social Justice Section as a result of a shift in the focus of work. The transition is expected to be completed by January 2010. The newly created Social Protection and Social Justice Section will focus on enhancing the capacity of member countries to implement social protection initiatives that provide income and/or consumption transfers to the poor, protect against livelihood risks and promote social justice by enhancing the social status and rights of the marginalized. Material related to the work on health will continue to be available on this web site. |
