The
Capacity Building Workshop on Promoting Public Awareness of Water
Conservation was held in Dili, Timor-Leste from 22 to 23 May 2003. The Workshop was sponsored by the United Nations Economic and
Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and jointly
organized by UNESCAP and the Directorate of Water and Sanitation Service
(WSS), Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Public Works, of the
Repùblica Democràtica de Timor-Leste. WSS hosted the Workshop.
The Workshop was
attended by about 50 participants predominantly from the Departments of
Water, Environment, Health, Energy, Mineral Resources, Planning,
Forestry, Electricity, Media persons (Journalists from Newspapers Timor
Post, and Suara Timor Lorosae, Humanity Films, Radio Timor-Leste, TV
Timor-Leste, UNICEF, and
Advisors from United Nations Mission of Support in East Timor (UNMISET).
