	THE FIFTH MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT IN ASIA AND THE PACIFIC, 2005 ESCAP is pleased to convene the Fifth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Development in Asia and the Pacific from March 24-29 in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. The theme of the conference is "achieving environmentally sustainable economic growth".

REGIONAL TRAINING WORKSHOP ON THE INTEGRATION OF ENERGY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT POLICIES AND PROGRAMMES, 12-14 MAY 2004, BANGKOK The Regional Training Workshop on the Integration of Energy and Rural Development Policies and Programmes was held from 12 to 14 May 2004 in Bangkok. Twenty-three participants, comprised government officials from energy and rural development sectors and academics, from eight countries, namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam, participated the Regional Training Workshop.
