In the second session, participants exchanged information on and discussed approaches to integrate energy and rural development policies and programmes, with a focus on institutional mechanisms and frameworks that support such integration. Main issues discussed include:

How are linkages between rural development and energy development currently reflected in procedures for formulating and implementing policies and programmes?
How are linkages between rural development and energy development currently reflected in institutional frameworks?
How can procedures or institutional frameworks support an integrated approach to energy and rural development?
