A
training workshop on Information Management for Disaster Reduction was
held in United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand, on 8
and 9 October 2003. The
Workshop was jointly organized by Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC),
European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office (DIPECHO), and United
Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific as part
of "Phase 2 of Partnerships for Disaster Reduction - Southeast Asia
(PDR-SEA II)". PDR-SEA II builds on the achievements of
national disaster management offices and non-governmental organization
partners during Phase I implemented by ADPC. The Workshop
was one of the aims of the PDR-SEA project to enhance and facilitate
active information sharing on best practices and experiences amongst
disaster management practitioners in the region.
