Reception

Welcome to the ESCAP Virtual Conference on Integrating Environmental Considerations into Economic Policy Making Processes.

Throughout the Asia Pacific Region, people from all levels of government and the private sector are finding ways to achieve economic development without destroying the environmental base that sustains us and the natural resources that support our existence and our economies. The objective of this programme is to find and examine the good experiences in the region, and use the ideas and practices to enhance everyone's efforts to achieve sustainable development. We call them "good practice examples" instead of "success stories" in an attempt to give fair judgement on country examples, rather than to decide whether they are "successes" or "failures".
