International Conventions
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, 1992.
The Convention is aimed at stabilizing changes in the climate to prevent
global warming and a rise in sea level.
Change in climate influences the ecology, which in turn also influences
what the country cultivates and exports, and hence its balance-of-payments
position. The rise in sea level has the risk of either flooding, that can
result in substantial loss of national income, or in some cases the total
disappearance of islands.
