Environmental Impact Assessment
In general the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process has become the main vehicle for integrating sectoral policies and strategic plans with the national vision of achieving ecologically sustainable development. The main use of EIA in the region has been as a tool to identify the potential impacts of proposed development projects and to evaluate alternative measures of eliminating or mitigating any adverse impacts.
