Presence of economic planning agencies in the membership of these committees

Although the economic planning agencies usually consider environmental issues in national plans, except in a few cases, they do not appear to be represented on national sustainable development committees. A notable exceptions is the Philippines where the National Economic and Development Authority, NEDA, performs a coordinating function for integrated national planning of the country. The NEDA Board is the country's highest social and economic development planning and policy coordinating body. NEDA chairs the Philippine Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) in order to promote effective integration of environmental concerns in economic policy making.
