CEA has also taken steps to incorporate EIA as a subject in postgraduate courses on environmental science and environmental engineering.
In addition, NAREPP has provided technical support for capacity-building in EIA. Development ministries which have Environmental Cells, other State agencies, selected NGOs and the private sector have been beneficiaries of the main activities undertaken by that project. A comprehensive 10-day workshop has been conducted for that purpose, together with other programmes. It is estimated that over 3,500 individuals from the public and private sectors and NGOs have received training on EIA methodology and procedures under the NAREPP training programmes.
