The National Development Council (NDC) is a high-level body which was recently established by the government, to examine policy issues related to areas of economic importance and make recommendations directly to the President. It comprises experienced professionals, both from the public and private sectors. Analyses and recommendations that may be made by NDC in relation to the plantation sector and which encompass environmental issues (not carried out as yet) will have a bearing on policy decision-making.
