International Commodity-Related Environmental Agreements (ICREAs) provide a possible instrument for correcting international commodity underpricing. This section reviews the basic concept of ICREA and the several forms it may take in promoting the use of production technologies that make production more sustainable. It then examines a Malaysian case of unilateral initiatives in the internalization of externalities for cocoa.
