A. Future perspective of Shenyang City development
The development target of Shenyang is to make it the centre of regional commerce, finance and technology.
Taking into account the advantages of Shenyang's location, social-economic capabilities, development demands and possibilities for reform and economic opening up of the area, the direction of development should be towards becoming:
(a) in the short term, the largest centre of commercial, financial, tourism, high technology and new industry in north-eastern China;
(b) in the mid-term, one of the largest commercial, financial, information, tourism and technology centres in northern China, one of the leading information industry bases in China, a modern equipment industry base and an industrial base for new materials, supported by high technology; and
(c) in the long term, one of the most modern, multi-functional international cities in North-East Asia.
